Please create a cover page for your document that includes the document
title, your full name, mailing address, email address and both day and evening
phone numbers. Put the exact word count in the upper right-hand corner. This
makes it easy for us to keep your contact information with your document at all
times.

It's easiest to send text as an email attachment. It should be in PC format
and in a Word, Word Perfect, ASCII text, or PDF file.
If email is not an option for you, handwritten and printed text may be faxed
or sent via surface mail. Please call us first to schedule your job so we are
aware that it is coming. Our mailing address is:
American Proofreading
P.O. Box 8485
Philadelphia, PA
19101
USA
215-222-3149
If you have any questions about how best to send your text, just ask.
When your project (or in some cases, a distinct part or your project, such
as a chapter) is completed, we will return it to you by the same method it was
received, or by email, fax, regular mail, or express mail, as you prefer.
** Note: All hardcopy and disk submissions should be accompanied by a
self-addressed, stamped envelope and a check, money order, or credit card
payment through Pay Pal for the amount of the first payment (50% of the total
estimated price based on type of service and page number). Please see How to
Format Your Manuscript for submission guidelines. Thank you for your
cooperation! **

Estimating Hourly Charges
-
Begin with the
total word count in your manuscript. Use the Word Count feature in MS Word
97/2000 with the option ‘Include footnotes and endnotes’ checked.
(tools, word count).
-
Divide this
number by 250 for a total number of average pages. There are approximately
250 words per formatted page.
-
Divide the
total pages by 7, the average number of pages edited per hour.
-
You have now
determined the estimated hours to complete your editing project. Multiply
this number by $25 to find the estimated total cost of your edit.
-
Divide this
number by 2 to calculate your deposit amount.
If this estimate is not accurate, we will contact you before beginning work
on your job. Many projects do not require the average 8.5 minutes per page, so
the estimate may be higher than the finished job. On the other hand, many other
factors can affect the cost of a job, including:
a change in
authors
extreme
differences in number and types of errors on different pages
multiple authors
within one document
changing desires
as to format, style, etc during editing process.
